Florida PT/PTA Laws and Rules Exam

Posted in Latest News on April 23, 2014.

All applicants are required to take and pass the Florida laws and rules examination, also known as the Jurisprudence exam, before being issued a license. The exam is given through the Federation of State Boards of Physical Therapy (FSBPT) and is on the following:

  • Chapter 456, Florida Statues, Health Professions and Occupations: General Provisions
  • Chapter 486, Florida Statutes, Physical Therapy Practice Act
  • Rule 64B17, Florida Administrative Code

Applicants must register online with the FSBPT to take the Florida Laws & Rules exam. Please do this when you submit your Florida application. Waiting to register will only delay your application. The exam fee must be paid directly to the FSBPT.

The exam is given Monday – Saturday at Prometric Testing Centers. Once your application has been approved, you will receive additional information on how to schedule.
