Posted in Latest News on May 20, 2024.

The Live Healthy Legislation, Senate Bill 7016 has become law, however, the Executive Board of the Compact reviewed the language and found that it materially deviated or conflicted with the model statute. As a result of this determination, Florida is deemed ineligible for Compact membership and shall not be entitled to any of the rights, privileges, or benefits of a Member State as set forth in the model statute and the rules, bylaws, and policies and procedures adopted by the Compact. This means that physical therapists and physical therapist assistants licensed in Florida will be ineligible to obtain compact privileges to practice physical therapy in other compact states, and that physical therapists and physical therapist assistants licensed in other compact states are ineligible to exercise the compact privilege to practice in Florida until these issues are resolved through legislative action.
