Record CE/CMEs before the deadline and be renewal ready.

In January 2013, the Department of Health launched CE @ Renewal, a program that verifies a practitioner’s required continuing education record during licensure renewal. Previously, health care professionals were required to complete continuing education hours, but were not required to report these hours to renew their license.

For a majority of professions, the CE @ Renewal program is being implemented in two phases to ensure a smooth transition. The first phase is optional and prompts practitioners to report continuing education while also educating them on how to use the program. During the second phase, which is mandatory, practitioners much have documentation of CE completion before their license can be renewed.

We have recently been informed that your profession will remain in the optional reporting phase until the Department of Health can pursue proper legislative change.

Prior to renewing your license, please ensure you are in compliance with your CE requirements. We strongly encourage you to complete and report your CE as soon as possible and not wait until the last minute. We thank you for all that you do to protect the health of all people of Florida.
